  2. Carriage hereunder is subject to the rules and limitations relating to liability established by the Warsaw Convention, unless such carriage is not "international carriage" as defined by that Convention.
  3. To the extent not in conflict with the foregoing paragraph, all carriage and other services performed by each carrier are subject to: (i) provisions contained in the ticket; (ii) applicable fares; (iii) carrier's conditions of carriage and related regulations which are made part hereof (and are available on application at the offices of carrier), except in the case of transportation between a place in the United States or Canada and any place outside thereof, to which norms in force in those countries apply.
  4. Carrier's name may be abbreviated in the ticket, as long as the full name and its abbreviation are set forth in carrier's manuals, conditions of carriage, regulations or schedules; carrier's address shall be the airport of departure shown opposite the first abbreviation of carrier's name in the ticket; the agreed stopovers are those places set forth in this ticket or as shown in carrier's timetables as scheduled stopovers on the passenger's route; carriage to be performed hereunder by several successive carriers is regarded as a single operation.

Overbooking of flights

Due to normal reservation procedures, some flights may have more confirmed passengers than we are able to accommodate. Should this occur, before any passenger is denied boarding, volunteers will be asked to give up their seats in exchange for an established compensation. Compensation usually includes a travel voucher. If there are not enough volunteers, boarding will generally be denied to those passengers who did not comply with the requirement to check in at least 2 hours before departure and is definitely denied to those who checked in less than 60 minutes prior to flight time. Passengers who have complied with check-in requirements, however, will be entitled to compensation.

Travel voucher restrictions apply as follows:

  • Valid for one year from date of issue
  • Non-transferable
  • Non-refundable
  • No residual value
  • Non-replaceable in case of loss
  • Its value may not exceed US$500

Transporting liquids, gels, and/or aerosols to and from the U.S.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) established the following security measures:

  • Passengers may take limited quantities of liquids, gels and/or aerosols in containers placed in a single, clear, resealable 1 quart (1 liter) size plastic bag when passing through the security checkpoint or boarding gate. The containers must be no larger than 3.4 oz. (100 ml.) and should fit easily in the bag. The plastic bag should be completely sealed and presented separately from the passenger's carry-on baggage for X-ray screening. Larger items may be transported in the passenger's checked baggage.

  • Passengers may take the following items onboard with them: baby formula/milk (including breast milk); medications; liquids (including juice or insulin) for diabetics. These should be declared to the TSA or security personnel if they have not been placed in a plastic bag or they exceed 3.4 oz. (100 ml.) each. An airline representative will determine whether the quantities of liquids and/or gels are reasonable given the passenger's travel itinerary.
  • The requirement that prescription medications have the passenger’s name on them is no longer in effect.
  • Passengers are allowed to transport liquids, gels and/or aerosols that were purchased in the secure area of the Panama airport (duty-free shops) as carry-on baggage. Store personnel will deliver the items purchased to the boarding gate. If the articles were purchased in other airports, they should be checked upon arrival in Panama, as this is the final point of departure for the United States. At airports in the United States, passengers who purchase liquids and/or gels in duty-free shops can take these items with them when boarding the airplane.

ICAO recommends provisional security regulations for the inspection of liquids, gels, aerosols and articles of similar consistency.

Regulations established by the General Administration of Civil Aviation regarding security checks and the inspection of liquids, gels, aerosols and articles of similar consistency went into effect May 1, 2007. They are as follows:

  • Passengers may carry limited quantities of liquids, gels and/or aerosols in containers with a capacity of less than 100 ml. (approximately 3.4 oz). Liquids in containers having a capacity greater than 100 ml. will not be accepted, even if the container is not full.
  • Containers should be placed in a clear, resealable plastic bag having a maximum capacity of 1 liter. Containers should fit easily in the bag, which should be completely sealed.
  • The plastic bag should be presented for visual inspection at the security checkpoint. Only one clear plastic bag is permitted per passenger.
  • Exceptions will be made for medications, milk and food for babies, and for passengers with special dietary requirements.
  • Liquids purchased in airport duty-free shops and onboard the airplane are exempt, provided the liquids are in a sealed plastic container and presented together with proof of purchase.
