Beginning in Aug. 2005, Copa Airlines and GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A., two of Latin America's leading air transportation companies, launched a commercial alliance.
The agreement yields important benefits to the passengers of both airlines, as it provides more flight options and connections between Brazil and Copa's Hub of the Americas in Panama.
Initially, the focus of the partnership was on linking GOL operated flights between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, with flights operated by Copa Airlines between Sao Paulo and Panama City, Panama. Subsequently, the companies worked to extend their reach in Brazil and throughout Latin America.
