Aero República brand name change

1. What does the announcement mean? Are you announcing a merger? A change in your brand name?

The Colombian airline Aero República will now officially be known as Copa Airlines Colombia. This is a result of the positive transformations and progress that the airline has achieved in the last five years. Since Copa Holdings, owner of the Panamanian airline Copa Airlines, acquired Aero República in March 2005, we set a goal to go further and become the best option for all travelers.

2. Does Aero República as a Colombian airline cease to exist?

Though it will now start selling its services under the brand name ‘Copa Airlines Colombia’, Aero República will not cease to exist as a Colombian airline. Moreover, Copa Airlines Colombia continues to be a domestic airline: it will still fly between domestic destinations and will still operate the same routes that Aero República did. Sociedad Aero República S.A. will not cease to exist as it is the holder of air traffic rights.

3. What are some real advantages that the change in brand name confers to travelers?

The Copa Airlines Colombia brand offers all the services that Aero República did and moreover bears the international prestige of Copa Airlines. This means that Colombian travelers can now fly to new international destinations. Thanks to a standardization of processes and to permits obtained from the authorities, the totality of the Copa Airlines and Copa Airlines Colombia fleets are available for domestic and international operations. This means moving up from a fleet of fifteen to a fleet of sixty airplanes.

4. Why should I prefer Copa Airlines Colombia for my travels?

With Copa Airlines Colombia, you’ll have access to the only arline with a 100% renovated fleet, coming in first in punctuality, quality service standards, and domestic and international connectivity. You’ll also enjoy more points of purchase, miles through the world’s leading MileagePlus program, and an exclusive Executive Class service.

5. I am planning on flying with Aero República and/or Copa Airlines in the next couple of days. Are there any changes that I need to know about?

No. Both companies will continue with normal uninterrupted service. Aero República has simply changed its brand name and is now known as Copa Airlines Colombia. Customers can continue to book flights just as they did before with both airlines.

6. Can I use my Aero República tickets with Copa Airlines Colombia?

Yes. Aero República now goes by the name of Copa Airlines Colombia. This change will allow the company to consolidate its relationship with one of the most important airlines in the Americas and grow even further.

7. Should I expect any changes to future reservations as a result of this announcement?

No. Future reservations are not affected as result of this announcement.

8. I’m about to buy a ticket. Should I expect any changes as a result of this announcement?

No. Both Aero República (now Copa Airlines Colombia) and Copa Airlines will continue to operate as before. Continue with your purchase as you otherwise normally would have.

9. Where do I check in for my flights? What will happen with the Aero República check-in counters at airports as a result of the change in brand name?

All passengers must show up for check-in at the same counters. The only difference is that instead of bearing the name Aero República they now bear the new brand name: Copa Airlines Colombia.

10. Should I expect any changes in service or an increase in ticket prices due to the change in brand name?

Ticket prices will not be affected as a result of the change in brand name. Our aim is to bring benefits to the Colombian traveler and give them access to a world-class airline, offering nothing but the best possible customer service.

11. My company has a corporate contract with Aero República and/or Copa Airlines. Will there be any changes as result of this agreement?

There won’t be any changes to corporate contracts as a result of this announcement. For management purposes, Aero República will keep its corporate name and as such will carry on as the holder of its air traffic rights. You can continue booking flights as you normally otherwise would have. From now on, sales teams from both companies, Aero República and Copa Airlines, will work together in Colombia in order to provide customers with world-class service.

12. Will there be any changes with respect to travel agencies as a result of the change in brand name?

No changes are planned with respect to travel agencies. From now on, sales teams from both companies, Aero República and Copa Airlines, will work together in Colombia in order to provide customers with world-class service.

13. What will happen with all the miles that I have accumulated with MileagePlus?

Travelers won’t lose any of the miles that they accumulated on flights with Aero República due to the fact that Copa Airlines and Aero República have a strategic alliance that uses the same MileagePlus frequent flyer program.
