• Children under 5 years must be accompanied by a person of at least 18 years of age.
• Children between 5 and 7 years only on direct flights or with intermediate stops, ie on flights where the child does not have to switch from one aircraft to another. Charges for the service apply.
• Children between the ages of 8-14 for direct flights and connection flights on the same airline. Service charges apply.
• We welcome young travelers between the ages of 15-17 on flights with the same airline or interline, as long as they have not been either registered or identified as minors with no accompanying adult. Service charges apply.
• For the acceptance of a child, it is essential to verify their age.
• A minor may not be the guardian of another minor, unless it is proved that is the father.
• Please note that Copa Airlines will not be responsible for the contents of the minor's carry-on bags or for any items of value carried by the minor. Please also be aware that unaccompanied minors are not allowed to fly with pets, either in the passenger cabin or the baggage compartment. Copa Airlines recommends that the adult responsible for the minor obtain more information on both of these policies when making the reservation for the unaccompanied minor. 
• Children should not travel with carry-on luggage that they cannot take care of. The piece of luggage should be included in the safety format.
• All children under medical treatment must travel accompanied by an adult.
• The unaccompanied minor service does not include service during the flight itself. The companion service starts at the check-in desk, includes the transfer of the minor through security and immigration for departure to the boarding gate and seating in the plane. The companion service does not include any service during the flight. Upon arrival at the final destination, the minor is accompanied by a liaison officer from the plane through immigration and customs, at which point the minor is handed over to the responsible adult.
• The responsible adult must submit the request for the service for the minor without a companion to the airline at least 48 hours before travel or at the time of the reservation. The airline is not responsible for providing the special services required in the absence of a request under these provisions.
• This service is not available if the minor's itinerary includes a flight that is the last flight of the day for that route. This applies unless the flight is the only flight that day.
