Portable shaving machine   Global positioning system (GPS)
Smart phones *   Calculators
Tablets / e-readers *      

 

* May be used only in airplane mode or with the mobile connection turned off.

** Large devices must be turned off, disconnected, and stowed during taxi, take-off, and landing. In general terms, any device larger than a tablet may pose a risk in terms of passengers’ ease of movement during an evacuation, because of the device’s physical size and weight. The crew will announce when it is safe to use these devices.

 

May not be used at any time:

Television sets/radio (AM/FM band)
No remote control toys or transmitters
Electronic cigarettes
Personal air purifiers
Transmitters (for citizens band (CB) radio users)
Two-way radios or walkie-talkies; VHF scanner receivers
Any cellular-enabled device ***

 

*** The use of mobile data or cellular networks is permitted only when the aircraft door is open and after landing.
