New terminal at El Dorado International Airport, Bogota
As of October 19, 2012, Copa Airlines' international flight departures and arrivals at the El Dorado Airport in Bogota will take place in the new terminal, T2.
Passengers departing on international flights will find our check-in counters and baggage registration lines at Gate #8.
Passengers departing on domestic flights will continue to use the old terminal, T1.
This new terminal will have the following improvements:
- Modern passenger terminal with access for passengers whose flights are arriving or departing across six lanes that will allow circulation of approx. 80,000 vehicles daily
- For departures, it will have spacious check-in counters that will increase passenger service to 227%
- More efficient migration counters with an increase of 56%
- 12 security filters that represent high efficiency in security controls with a 300% increase in security
- Spacious and open waiting rooms
- Boarding bridges with digital information
- A state-of-the-art baggage system
- Permanent room temperature of 72° F
- 1703 lineal feet of conveyor belts
- 15 elevators
- 9 escalators
- An increase of 56% in immigration counters for arrival flights
- Five custom control filters
- 7 X-ray scanners that will speed up the entry of passengers, declaring and non-declaring, to the country
