Options for checking in for your flight

 

Use Web Check-in or go to the airport check-in counter to check in for your Copa Airlines flight, regardless of where you purchased your ticket.

*For flights to or from Venezuela or the United States, remember that you must be at the airport 3 hours prior to departure.

Web Check-In

With Web Check-in, you can save time and check in at your convenience from home or work. You can use Web Check-in even if you’re checking bags. You can obtain your boarding pass between 36 hours and 1 hour prior to the departure of your flight, except for flights to or from the United States. For flights to or from the United States, Web Check-in is available from 24 hours to 1 hour prior to departure.

Passengers checking bags must be at the check-in counter 90 minutes prior to the departure of their flight to check their bags.

Restrictions:

  • This check-in option is not available for passengers who have changed their reservation and have a balance due. These passengers may contact our Reservation Center.
  • Available only on Copa Airlines and Copa Airlines Colombia flights.
  • Not available for passengers traveling with animals.
  • Not available for passengers traveling with paper tickets.

Traveling with baggage

If you are traveling with bags and have already done Web Check-In, you must arrive at the check-in desk at least 90 minutes prior to your flight's departure, in order to check-in your baggage. For international flights, if you don't have any bags to check-in, and have already checked-in at copa.com or via your cell phone using our app for Android or iOS/iPhone, you must arrive at the boarding gate 45 minutes prior to flight departure. For domestic flights you must present your documents at the boarding gate half an hour prior to flight departure. All passengers departing from Costa Rica must go to the Copa Airlines counter to complete and submit the appropriate immigration form, before going to the boarding gate.

Not available for:

  • Passengers that have made a change of reservation and have an outstanding payment should make their payment by contacting our Reservation Center or through our online chat service.
  • Passengers with reservations that don't include the necessary airport taxes.
  • Flights or itineraries that have connections with other airlines that are not either Copa Airlines or Copa Airlines Colombia.
  • Passengers traveling with infants (under 2) or unaccompanied minors.
  • Passengers traveling as part of a group (10 or more passengers on the same reservation).
  • Passengers traveling with pets.
  • Passengers traveling with paper tickets.

Mobile Web Check-In

You can check in and receive your boarding pass for any of our destinations. Passengers can use Mobile Check-in for any of our destinations, by going to copa.com on their mobile device or using our app for Android or iOS/iPhone. Passengers who use Mobile Check-in will enjoy the same benefits as passengers who use Web Check-in.

Mobile boarding pass

Mobile Check-in is available for every destination we serve. At airports where mobile boarding passes are not yet accepted, passengers will need to go to the Web Check-in line and show their mobile boarding pass. A paper boarding pass will be printed for them.

Airport check-in counters

Passengers traveling with animals and passengers who need special assistance are welcome to check in at the airport.

  • For international flights, all passengers should be at the Copa Airlines check-in counter at least three hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight.
  • For domestic flights within Colombia and Panama, passengers must be at the airport 1 hour prior to the flight’s scheduled departure. When traveling on holiday seasons or when special requirements are needed, passengers must be at the airport at least an hour and a half before the flight’s scheduled departure.
  • Arrive at the airport early. That way you’ll have plenty of time to complete the security screening process, check your bags prior to departure, and comply with all requirements for international flights.
  • Remember that if you are traveling from the *United States or **Venezuela, the immigration and security screening procedures may require additional time, so we request that you be at the check-in counter on time.
  • Our counters close their check-in process 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of their flight. For flights departing from Venezuela, our counters close their check-in process more than 60 minutes prior to the schedule departure of their flight.

For your convenience, we offer self-service kiosks at Panama’s leading hotels. Passengers can use these kiosks to access all the benefits available on copa.com.
