All of the countries to which Copa Airlines flies require passengers that are not residents or citizens, travelling as a tourist, to have proof of transportation exiting the country, be it an airplane, ferry, bus, or cruise ship ticket etc., showing the final destination as another country or the passenger's home country.
Once the ticket has been issued, you cannot change the name appearing on the ticket, nor will you be permitted to create duplicate reservations (two reservations for the same flight, destination and/or date). To make itinerary changes in your reservation, you may contact us at the Reservation Center or at any of our Sales Offices. Changes made to your ticket's itinerary are subject to penalties and fees depending on the difference between the original rate and the desired rate.
Any ticket issued by Copa Airlines will remain valid for transportation for one year after the date the ticket was issued.
The issue date for the ticket is the date on which payment was made, using either cash or a credit card, or the receipt date stated on the ticket for which payment was received using an acceptable form of payment.
If a ticket for a published fare that has not been used is completely re-issued, the new ticket will be valid for a year from the date on which the ticket was re-issued.
When the ticket includes a special trip or fare that is valid for less than one year, the shorter of the periods will apply only to the transportation associated with the special trip or fare. When the fare limits transportation to specific parts of the day, week, month or year, the ticket will only be valid during those specified periods.
Copa Airlines allows you to change from one flight to another on the same day for the same route, if you request the change between 24 to 2 hours prior to the flight departure. When traveling with selected fares, passengers have the option of purchasing a seat on an alternate flight for a non-refundable fee of USD $75. This change can be requested through at the airport.
Conditions:

Yes. When you make your purchases on copa.com, we recommend that your purchasing portal be the same as the country from which your flight is departing. For example, if you wish to buy a ticket departing from Miami, you should buy your ticket from the U.S. portal. The reason for this is that taxes vary depending on the portal where the ticket is purchased, and if you buy your ticket from a portal in a country other than that from which your flight is departing, when you depart you will be charged at the airport for taxes that were not included with your purchase.
If your country's portal is not on copa.com, choose the portal "Other countries."

Manage your booking – Payment for reservations
It is only necessary to view reservations made through travel agencies, sales offices or through our Reservation Center.
Reservations created online at copa.com can be viewed using Manage your booking without having paid for them yet, as long as they are kept active.
These tell you what phase of the reservation process you are at with respect to the payment process and/or the issuing of the ticket (e-ticket).
Depending on the status you see on your reservation, certain functions in Manage your booking are disabled, as explained below:
a. Saved:
This means that your reservation is still active but has not been purchased. You may print your itinerary, export it to your electronic planner or reserve seats.
However, the options for requesting special food and services remain disabled until after you have completed the purchase.
b. Confirmed:
This status appears for any of the following reasons:
1. Your reservation has been purchased but your ticket (e-ticket) has not been issued yet. You may make use of all of the Manage your booking functions, except for the option to "See receipt," which will remain disabled until your ticket has been issued. Tickets are issued in approximately 5 minutes, but in rare cases may take up to 6 hours. If you need help, please contact our Reservation Center, available 24 hours a day.
2. Your reservation has already been paid for and your ticket issued. You may now make use of all the Manage your booking functions.
This means that the status of your reservation is either “Saved” or “Confirmed” and your ticket (e-ticket) has not been issued yet.
If your reservation status is listed as “Saved”, you must complete the purchase in order to view your receipt.
If the reservation has already been paid for and the status is listed as “Confirmed”, you must wait approximately 2 to 5 minutes for the system to issue your ticket (e-ticket). On rare occasions this process may take up to 6 hours.
If you need help, please contact our Reservation Center, available 24 hours a day.
This occurs when any modifications, like changing the flight date or time, or changing the passenger names, are made to a reservation created on copa.com. Under these circumstances you should contact our Reservation Center to complete the purchase.
