Copa Airlines recognized again as “The world’s second most on-time airline” and “Latin America’s most on-time airline”
- Copa Airlines, with an on-time performance rating of 88.75%, was recognized for the second year in a row as “the world’s second most on-time airline” by the renowned London-based Official Airline Guide (OAG).
- In addition to being recognized by OAG, Copa was also named “Latin America’s most on-time airline,” thanks to its excellent on-time performance in 2016, which earned the airline the top spot in the “On-Time Performance Service 2016” ranking maintained by FlightStats, the well-known international consulting firm.
- These recognitions are the result of the commitment and hard work of Copa Airlines team members at every destination that Copa serves, numbering more than 70 in 31 countries.

Copa Airlines {NYSE: CPA} a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S. A. and a member of the Star Alliance global network, is pleased to begin 2017 with good news for passengers regarding the airline’s on-time performance. The renowned Official Airline Guide (OAG), a London-based air travel intelligence company, announced that Copa Airlines has officially been named “the world’s second most on-time airline.”
In 2016, according to the figures provided by OAG, Copa Airlines achieved an on-time performance rating of 88.75%, placing second among the world’s 20 most on-time long-haul airlines for the second year in a row.
In addition to being recognized by OAG, Copa Airlines also received the On-time Performance Service Award in the Latin American airlines category from FlightStats, the well-known international consulting firm, for the fourth year in a row. This award was given to Copa after it earned the top spot among Latin America’s leading airlines in the FlightStats ranking of “On-Time Performance Service 2016.” Copa Airlines took the top spot in two FlightStats categories: Network, with a rating of 89.01%, and Mainline, with a rating of 88.60%.
In acknowledging this honor, Copa Airlines CEO Pedro Heilbron stated that he was “proud to receive these recognitions. They are the result of the commitment and effort of every member of the Copa Airlines team. With their hard work day in and day out, our on-time performance has certainly been established as one of the key factors that sets us apart in the competitive global aviation industry.”
