Carry-on baggage
Copa Airlines considers as carry-on luggage, items that you bring with you into the aircraft cabin and must fit easily in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you.

- Each item of carry-on luggage may measure up to 46 linear inches (118 cm): 22’’ (56 cm) high + 14’’ (36 cm) long + 10’’ (26 cm) wide. Linear dimensions do not include suitcase wheels.
- Items brought to the boarding gate in excess of your carry-on policy are subject to being checked and charged as additional baggage, per your ticket’s baggage allowance policy. In the event that the passenger refuses or does not have the ability to pay for the additional bags, Copa Airlines will not be responsible nor deliver bags left behind at gates, which will be turned over to the airport authorities.

Personal item
Each passenger may bring one (1) personal item, in addition to the allowed carry-on luggage.
Personal items include:
- Food to be eaten on board the aircraft
- Products purchased at the airport
- A purse or handbag
- A backpack
- A briefcase
- A laptop case or bag
- A video game console (PlayStation®, Xbox®, or Nintendo®)

- Each item may measure up to 36 linear inches (90 cm): 17’’ (43 cm) high + 10’’ (25 cm) long + 9’’ (22 cm) wide.
- If your personal item exceeds the allowed dimensions, it will be transported in the aircraft hold as checked luggage. Any applicable excess baggage fees will apply.

The item must be packaged appropriately and stowed in the overhead bin. If you prefer, you can purchase an extra seat at the same fare, both tickets must be on the same reservation and issued at the same time. To arrange this, you will need to contact one of our sales offices or our Reservation Center.
- A coat or jacket
- Infant items: If you are traveling with an infant up to 23 months old, you may bring one (1) of each of the following three (3) items:
- A child seat, if you have purchased a separate seat on the flight for the infant
- A compact folding stroller
Large strollers must be checked at the ticket counter and will be transported in the aircraft hold as checked luggage. - A diaper bag
- Assistive devices
Copa Airlines allows for the storage, handling, and transportation of special aid devices for passengers with special needs in addition to the standard baggage allowance, as long as the passenger depends on them.- A walker
- An orthopedic aid
- A walking cane
- Crutches
- A wheelchair and wheelchair batteries
- A portable respirator
- A wedding dress
