Preparing for your flight
Below, you’ll find the health measures recommended us and by the health authorities so you can feel confident while enjoying your trip.
At Copa Airlines we recommend
- Check the travel requirements of the country of origin and destination.
Several countries have established entry restrictions due to COVID19, check the immigration and health requirements of your destination.
- Do Web Check-In and download your mobile boarding pass.
The use of mobile boarding pass is allowed in most cities where we operate and you can go straight to immigration area, if you are not travelling with checked baggage.
- Remember to bring your face mask.
The use of a mask is mandatory at various airports, at Copa Clubs and for the entire duration of all our flights. Take into account that it is advisable to change it every 3-4 hours. Masks with escape valves are not allowed.
- Bring hand sanitizer with you.
The use of hand sanitizer is necessary if you do not have immediate access to hand washing. Remember the restrictions of liquids that you can bring in your carry-on bag.
- Make sure you comply with the permitted measurements and weight of your carry-on baggage.
You may bring one carry-on bag and one personal item with you. We ask you to pack your carry-on bag light enough so that you can lift it up and store it in the overhead bin without assistance.
- Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight departure time.
Most airports have more controls, so it may take longer than usual.
- In some airports, only ticketed passengers will be allowed to enter
If you require special assistance, you may enter with a companion.
- You are welcomed to bring food on board our flights for your personal consumption.
We have simplified our onboard food and beverage service to minimize physical interactions.
- To speed up the boarding process keep your boarding pass and identification documents on hand.
Each passenger will self-board by placing the boarding pass in the scanner and must show the documentation to the staff at the gate.
- Once onboard, you will not be allowed to change seats.
In the event that a passenger shows symptoms of COVID-19, the health authorities can trace contacts by seat number. Help us keep everyone safe by staying in the seat assigned in your boarding pass
- Upon arrival at your destination, stay in your seat and wait your turn to get off the aircraft.
We will disembark from front to back to reduce contact between passengers.
Recommendations from the health authorities
- Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water (especially after using the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing).
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with your inner elbow or a tissue, and dispose of the tissue after using it.
- If you have symptoms, such as a dry cough, fever, and/or sore throat, and you don’t feel fit to travel, see your doctor before deciding whether to keep or change your travel date.
