Minors traveling alone
Copa Airlines offers the unaccompanied minor service for children between the ages of 5 and 14 who travel without the company of a family member, guardian or designated travel companion of at least 18 years of age.
The unaccompanied minor service does not include any services during the flight.
- The service starts at the check-in desk, includes the transfer of the minor through security and immigration for departure to the boarding gate and seating in the plane.
- Upon arrival at the final destination, the minor is accompanied from the plane through immigration and customs, at which point the minor is handed over to the responsible adult.

Fees
- The service fee is per journey.
- In addition of service fee, taxes established by the country will apply.
- If two or more minors from the same family travel without companions, only one fee is applied, corresponding to the fee for one minor, the value of the service will be charged for every four (4) children only in accordance with the following table.

Booking
- Only a maximum of 25 unaccompanied minors are accepted per flight. Be sure to request the service at least 48 hours before the flight departure or at the time of making the reservation through our Sales Offices and Call center. If you arrive at the airport without a reservation, the unaccompanied minor service will be subject to availability.
- The payment for the unaccompanied minor service can be made 48 hours before the flight departure through our Sales Offices and Call center.
- To pay for the unaccompanied minor service, the reservation must be issued and confirmed.
- The airline is not responsible for not being able to provide the special services required if the request is not made in accordance with the provisions.
Special information required at the time of making the reservation of the unaccompanied minor:
- Name and relationship of the person who will take the child to the airport.
- Telephone number and residence address of said person.
- Name and relationship of the person who will receive the child.
- Telephone number of the residence and office of said person.
- Identification number or photo identification of the adult who will take the minor to the airport and of the adult who will meet the minor upon arrival.
Conditions
- Unaccompanied minors must comply with the immigration and health requirements established by the country of origin and destination. We recommend checking with the competent authorities to ensure that these are complied with.
- Unaccompanied minors should not travel with carry-on baggage that they cannot guard. Copa Airlines will not be responsible for the contents of the minor's carry-on bags or for any items of value carried by the minor.
- Unaccompanied minors cannot carry excess baggage or extra pieces as checked baggage.
- Unaccompanied minor are not allowed to travel with pets.
- A minor cannot be the guardian of another minor; unless it is proven that, he is the parent or legal guardian.
- Unaccompanied minors and young travelers who are undergoing medical treatment or who have a special medical condition cannot be accepted unless they present a medical document that authorizes the minor's travel without the company of a responsible adult.
- The person delivering the child must remain available at the airport until the flight departure is confirmed and once the flight has taken off, they must remain at the airport for up to one hour after the plane has taken off.
- When the child arrives at their destination, the person who is going to receive the child must show documentation that identifies them as the person indicated on the form that is attached to the child's ticket holder.
For flights from the United States
For flights departing from the United States, the responsible adult who is delivering the minor must carry valid identification within the United States (ID, passport, driver's license) that shows their full name, date of birth, and gender, since the airline will issue the adult an entry pass or Gate Pass to accompany and deliver the minor at the boarding gate.
