Panama City, June 6, 2014 - In the spirit of enthusiasm surrounding the World Cup, Copa Airlines has launched a campaign called “Copa, connecting the Americas.” The airline is giving all of its passengers spaces and updates that will let them enjoy the excitement of the World Cup 2014.
The most notable element of this campaign is an onboard information system that will allow all of the airline’s passengers, pilots, and cabin crews to enjoy the most important moments of the World Cup during all of their flights.
The information system enables the control center to send information about the progress and final scores of matches, so that Copa flight crews can receive this information and share it with passengers in real time, in English and Spanish.
Marco Ocando, Copa Airlines’ Director of Marketing, said, “At Copa Airlines, we always try to offer all of our passengers the best service. This includes keeping them informed about the exciting developments in most important sporting event of the year.” Ocando added that “at Copa, we know how important soccer is in the majority of the countries where we operate, so we don’t want to overlook the most important details.”
Also as part of this campaign, three 84-inch screens have been installed at Tocumen International Airport, where passengers connecting to a variety of destinations will be able to enjoy the excitement of the 64 soccer matches. Copa Clubs are also equipped so that passengers won’t miss out on the World Cup while taking advantage of these spaces for rest and relaxation.
