Copa Airlines transports Chilean miners and their families on a visit to Disney World

Copa provided transportation to Orlando for the 33 miners and their family members.


Orlando, USA - January 31, 2011 -- Copa Airlines [NYSE:CPA] yBoeing [NYSE: Chile's 33 rescued miners and their families travelled to Orlando, Florida, to visit Disney World on January 27.  Panama-based Copa Airlines and Disney World worked together to provide travel arrangements on three different flights from Chile to Orlando for the miners and their family members - a total of around 150 people.

"We are thrilled to have been a part of making this exciting trip to the magical world of Disney possible for these Chilean heroes. We applaud their fighting spirit that demonstrates so clearly that almost anything is possible with teamwork", said Joe Mohan, Copa Airlines' Vice President, Commercial and Planning.


Copa Airlines provided Walt Disney World with special fares for the flights, as part of the airline's effort to unite the cultures of the Americas.  The first Copa flight with miners aboard was greeted with a water salute upon arrival in Orlando.


The miners and their families spent several days vacationing in Orlando.

"This is one adventure we hope they will enjoy," added Joe Mohan.
