Copa Airlines launches service from Panama City to Montego Bay

Montego Bay, Jamaica, August 25, 2011 -- The Jamaica Tourist Board and Copa Airlines today announced new flight service between Panama City's Tocumen International Airport (PTY) and Jamaica's Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay. Travelers can now book flights on Copa Airlines for travel starting December 11, in time for the holiday season.

"This new partnership with Copa Airlines will provide travelers from South America a seamless route into the heart of Jamaica's resort capital," said John Lynch, Jamaica's Director of Tourism. "Panama City is a main gateway for connecting flights throughout Central and South America. The new service provides joint benefits, increasing the potential for visitor arrivals for both destinations.  Jamaicans can experience South American culture while Latin Americans can explore Montego Bay or a nearby city such as Ocho Rios and Negril."

Copa's new flights will depart Panama City's Tocumen International Airport (PTY) at 9:06 a.m. every Tuesday and Sunday, and arrive at Jamaica's Sangster International Airport (MBJ) at 11:03 a.m. Return flights are scheduled to depart MBJ at 12:39 p.m., and arrive at PTY at 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Sunday. In addition to Copa Airline's expansion into Montego Bay, Copa has regular service from its Hub in Panama into Jamaica's Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

"We are very pleased to enhance flight options between the Caribbean and the rest of the Americas with Copa's service to beautiful Montego Bay," said Joe Mohan, Business Vice President of Commercial and Planning, Copa Airlines.  "Our expanded flight banks from the Hub of the Americas in Panama and our growing  network of routes provide passengers increased opportunities to enjoy Copa Airlines' world-class travel experience throughout Latin America and the Caribbean."

Copa flights through Panama City into Montego Bay will be available starting December 11, 2011, from 58 cities in North, Central and South America.
